Basic Guide For Android Applications Development

The intensity of all the commercial activity surrounding Android applications development is both wonderful and ironic, because the project is open source. The market has grown so fast that Google's OS now enables one-third of all mobile phones being shipped out. But it's the future that's even more thrilling, because its market share is still growing at a fast clip.

No surprise that the cream of talented developers is focused on developing these apps on a corporate level. But it's probably best to begin with the basics. This smart phone OS is Linux-based, and the code for the apps is written in Java.

Java is, obviously, a pre-requisite for developers. If nothing else, a developer at least needs to be able to understand programming logic and then pick up the syntax required for the apps. Apart from this, all that is needed is to get the tools necessary and use them.

A Solid Computer Gets Faster, February 24, 2011
By Glenn R. Howes (Nashua, NH)

I stopped by my local Apple Store the morning this MacBook Pro was made available to the public and bought one, replacing my over two year old unibody MacBook. These are premium computers, and well made. My old computer, which looks very much like this one, still looked great after two years, with a little scratching on the bottom, and an unfortunate denting of one corner. I do not regret for one minute paying more for a device I use several hours a day, and from which I derive my living.

The strong point of this computer over previous 13 inch unibody MacBooks is the processor. It is noticeably faster at computationally intensive tasks. For example, I have a large application written in the C++ programming language which Xcode on my late 2008 vintage MacBook could compile in 16.5 minutes, this MacBook can do the same task in 8.5 minutes, a nearly doubling of speed. Similiarly, converting a 10 minute MP3 file to AAC in iTunes used to take 21 seconds, now it takes 14 seconds. Unsurprisingly, computer processors have gotten faster. The new processor does tend to heat up fast under full load, so be prepared for more frequent fan noise. more review...

With Thunderbolt Technology, Mac can delivers 10 Gbps/s of transfer speeds in both directions (input/output). It means you can move data up to 20 times faster than with USB 2.0 and more than 12 times faster than with FireWire 800. And thanks to this technology, you'll be able to connect to a high-resolution display from the same port. ny Mini DisplayPort display plugs right into the Thunderbolt port, and you can also connect displays that use DisplayPort, DVI, HDMI, or VGA connections with an existing adapter. You'll also be able to include your display into a daisy-chained set of peripherals.

Samsung Galaxy Tab

Although the iPad 2 is the undisputed leader in the tablet segment, there are plenty of other devices that deserve more than a second look. For instance, there is Motorola's Xoom and RIM's BlackBerry Playbook. However, the most viable alternative seems to be the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. It is the next evolution after the success of the original Samsung Galaxy Tab which featured the first tablet implementation of the Android operating system. This time around, though, it will use the newest Honeycomb version of Android - a specially designed OS with a tablet-friendly user interface.

Galaxy Tab Review

If a feature comparison is to be made among all the leading tablets, there is no doubt that the Galaxy Tab will come out supreme. Its NVIDIA dual-core CPU is accompanied by graphics technology with enough muscle for advanced gaming. The graphic interface provides unparalleled user experience thanks to the Honeycomb OS. Every application can be launched and operated without any difficulty. Those who enjoy browsing videos on YouTube and playing online games will be glad to know that it fully supports Flash.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab has a bigger and better screen than the iPad 2 - perfect for HD playback. The TouchWiz custom UI and capacitive screen combine for unmatched responsiveness. Anyone looking for a good Android tablet for mobile computing and connectivity should give it a try.
